[#003] {12 Sep 2007♥10:40pm} { mood ♥ Introspective } { music ♥ Leaving on a Jet Plane / John Denver } I'm not exactly sure where to post these, but I've been thinking about some graphics ideas to spruce up the CJ site as a whole... here is an idea I've had: I was over at LJ and I noticed they used a pencil almost as though it's a logo, and it got me to thinking, why not Ink Blots? Free Thought = Independant Thinking = Rorschach Testing (I think that's how you spell it any way). Well, at least that's what I think when I think about the ink blot test. You know... you're shown an ink blot and asked what you see in the image? The test itself is one to see if you're... well.."normal" or not. It was designed to help define personality characteristics between people and has been used to diagnose thought disorder and helping differentiate between Psychotic and Nonpsychotic thought patterns. Back in the mid-twentieth Century, Free Thought or Independant Thinking was considered cause for putting someone into an Institution/Sanitarium. The best case scenario I can think of for both real life *and* fandom are these: In Real Life, my Great Grandmother lost her youngest son, the day after her middle son's 10th birthday. Her grief was enough for her family and friends to have her institutionalized for two years - at the same time; her nephew was institutionalized because he was a bit of a handful growing up. He liked to go against the grain. In Fandom, I look to R.P McMurphy from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. There was nothing outwardly wrong with him. For all intents and purposes, he was cogent and realitively sane. His thought patterns however, were of an individualistic nature, he liked to go against the grain, liked to laugh in the face of authority and do things his own way.
