Face the Realty

Having dinner of chicken rice this evening.

Taste better and more filling than my lunch this afternoon.

Just finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows a few days ago. The summary is like this:

As Harry neared his 17th birthday, his uncle, aunt and cousin - Dudley were forced to move home as Voldermont was predicted to be on the move to kill Harry Potter. As for Harry, he was escorted by Hagrid and the rest with a few of them drinking polyjuice in Harry's form as decoys. George lost a ear in the process and Mad Eye died. From then on, Harry stayed with the Weasley family at the Burrows for his own birthday and Bill/Fleur's weddings. On his own birthday, he, Ron and Hermione inherited a snitch, a Deluminator from Dumbledore's will as informed by Scrimgeour. Harry was supposed to inherit Gryffindor's sword as well but the Ministry of Magic refused to release it to him. On the day of Bill/Fleur's wedding, Scrimgeour was killed at his work place and Voldermont took over with his puppet as the minister. The Death Eaters disrupted the wedding. Harry, Ron and Hermione were forced to go on a run and in a race with the Dark side to hunt Voldemort's remaining Horcux.

From the late Sirius's house, Harry managed to gain Kreacher the elf's trust and continued to stay there with Ron and Hermione while finally tracking the locket around Umbridge's neck at the Ministry of Magic. They were forced to camp in the outdoors after their stay in Sirius's mansion was exposed to the Death Eaters. Throughout the uncertainty and depression of the chaos in the magic community, Ron broke off with Harry and Hermione. Harry and Hermione went to Godric's Hollow to search for more information from Dumbledore's old friend but she had been killed and possessed by Voldemort's snake to kill Harry. Harry's wand was broken and he was rescued by Hermione back to their camp. Few months later, he wandered to a wood lured by a silver doe and found Gryffindor's sword deep in the lake. He dived into it and was almost drown when Ron saved him from it. Ron destroyed the locket using the sword. Together with Hermione, they went to Luna's father to find out more on meaning of the symbol on a story book which Hermione inherited from Dumbledore and learnt about the three treasures of Deathly Hallows - the Elder wand, resurrent stone and the invisible cloak (which was found to be Harry's inheritence from his father). They were almost 'sold off' by Luna's father to Voldemort as Luna had been kidnapped to pressure him. In the camp, Harry accidentially said out Voldemort's name which had been cursed so that the speaker would be traced. As a result, they were captured and brought to Malfoy's mansion, locked in a cell where they met Dean, a goblin, the wand maker and Luna. Wormtail was killed by the silver hand which Voldemort had given him when he revealed hesitation to kill Harry. Harry managed to snatch Draco Malfoy's wand and escaped with the rest of them before Voldemort, who had just murdered the previous dark wizard whom Dumbledore used to duel in the past in the cell where he had been imprisoned ever since, returned. Dobby died from saving them to Bill/Fleur's place under instruction from someone with Dumbledore's eyes. At the place, Lupin asked Harry to be his newly born son's godfather and he agreed. Harry asked the goblin to guide them in stealing a Hufflepuff cup from the bank in return for Gryffindor's sword. The sword was snatched off by the goblin in the process. The three teenagers grabbed the cup in nick of time and escaped on a dragon.

Harry had vision of Voldemort's that the next Horcux was in Hogwarts. From there, they sneaked back via a barman who was found to be Dumbledore's brother who had earlier sent Dobby to rescue them and were welcomed warmly by their fellow classmates. One Death eater spotted Harry and informed Voldemort who was in fury to learnt that three of his Horcuxes were already gone. Snape ran off after his fight with McGonagall and Flitwick who were defending Harry and Luna. Harry managed to find the third last Horcux - a diadem of Ravencrow in the room of requirement and Crabbe died in the process of trying to kill him and burn down the place. The diadem was destroyed with Voldemort's bit of soul in it. Voldemort arrived with the rest of Death eaters while the Orders hurried to aid Hogwarts. Voldemort ordered the people to hand over Harry in return for peace to Hogwarts but was being refused. A fierce battle commenced. Percy learnt his lesson and reunited with his family again. In the process, Lupin, Tonks and Fred were killed. Harry managed to arrive to see Voldemort killing Snape. In his near of death, Snape passed his memories to Harry who viewed the truth of entire process in the Pensive.

Snape had been in love with Lily Potter since children. After her death, he became Dumbledore's spy to Voldemort and had since tried to save Harry in many circumstance. Snape was shocked and angry to be informed that Harry was the last Horcux and Dumbledore had intended Harry to die in the end. Snape had been the one to send a silver doe to Harry so that he could find the sword in the bottom of the lake and he was also the one to confound someone in the Order to suggest a decoy so that Harry will be saved when he left for the Burrows. Upon knowing everything, Harry told Longbottom that Voldemort's snake had to be killed in case if Ron and Hermione failed. With that, he went to give himself up to Voldemort in the Forbidden Forest where Hagrid was seen kidnapped. Harry managed to open the snitch for the Resurrect stone and gained encouragement from the dead loved ones around him. Voldemort attacked Harry with the Elder wand which he had taken from Dumbledore's tomb with a killing curse. In his mind eye, Harry met Dumbledore who explained the flaws of Voldemort's plan as well as the unknown magic theory in the process. Harry woke up and continued to fake dead as Voldemort and the Death eaters assumed his death. He was carried by Hagrid (upon Voldemort's order) to the outside of the castle where the others were distressed by Harry's 'death'. Longbottom killed Voldemort's snake with the lost sword drawn from the sorting hat. Harry woke up, faced off with Voldemort who had no more horcux left. As throughout the Elder wand's snatching line, Harry was the rightful owner of the Elder wand. Voldemort's curse rebounded and he was killed. The Malfoys learnt their lessons and continued life as usual.

19 years later. Harry and Ginny married with 1 daughter - Lily and 2 sons - Albus and James. Ron and Hermione married with 1 daughter - Rose and son - Hugo. Draco had a son. Albus inherited all Harry's qualities and Harry encouraged him not to be afraid to make changes in face of challenges.

COMMENT: I suppose my interest with Harry Potter rekindles again. I was so touched with the scene of Dobby's death that I had to blow my nose several times. The final show down scene between Harry and Voldemort's a bit weird too... Anyway, I think I'm gonna retain the Harry Potter mood theme after all. The final installation unlike the previous six contains more adventures and fights with no more schooling scenes. Somehow, the way Harry and Voldemort argued about Snape's belonging to Dumbledore or Voldemort reminds me of a post by Kenny Sia here.

I'm surprised there's more deaths than expected in the novel.

Had lunch of pork mixed noodles ($2.00) for lunch yesterday.

Had dinner of buffet at cousin's house for relative gathering which comprised of fried bee hoon (again), chachew nuts in yam rings, fish fillet, curry chicken, mixed veg, spring rolls, vinegar pork.

Buffet dinner Vinegar pork tasted so much unexpectedly pleasant. I could feel the sourness within the sweetness and the oil in the pork fat had been removed during the process.

Spent the rest of my time, chatting with relatives, watching bits of television and watching Bleach #160 on nephew's computer. Left around 10:20pm.

Relative gathering last Sunday, unlike usual times, the buffet was Western high tea comprising of cakes, sandwiches, dumpling and tarts. Prefer the buffets during the past few years.

Left for home around 5pm. Went Giant at Tampines after 6:30pm news for dinner of laksa at $3 each. The quantity was lesser than usual. Still feeling hungry.

Just changed my layout to Sakura Wars theme to ensure more diversity.. Teeheehee~~
