"Then he went to the medicare centers and he saw the old people there
It seems that the young generation just didn't want 'em in their hair
He saw the poor man workin' it out while the mighty rich lives high
And my friend that brings a gleam to the enemy's eyes
There were some folks had plenty and some had none at all
The enemy knows when a heart gets hard the country is bound to fall

    Pain vs. Plans

The past two days, I've had spells of feeling more alert, more sharp than I've felt in a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, those spells haven't lasted very long before giving way to fibro-fog and/or sleepiness. :-(

I just woke up from an odd dream, finding myself disoriented and dizzy (okay, not so alarming in the context of suddenly waking from a dream of being dropped by a crane from a great height, through a series of violently exploding huge baloons, to be stopped by a stuntman's airbag, all for an appearance on The Tonight Show (if the dream explained what I'd done to get booked on late-night national television, I've forgotten that part already)) ... and also in severe enough pain that I'm procrastinating trying to stand up to walk to the bathroom. F'ing ouch, man.

I took painkillers as soon as I was awake enough to find them, but they're not likely to take effect in time for me to get to 3LF rehearsal, despite my plans to be there tonight. If I feel well enough forty-five minutes hence, I'll try to get there for the second half of rehearsal, but next week is looking like the more likely option at this point.

    Ugh.

Okay, now to see whether my legs are working well enough yet to get to the bathroom. (Long car trips are not the only time having a huge bladder is a blessing.)

    Ow. Dammit. Ow.
