 | 06:37 am - Hosting is coming due! Once again, I appeal to all of you. The hosting bill is coming due, $169, and we're short of money to pay it. As I've said several times, CJ depends on you, its users, to keep on going.
If you cannot afford a paid or permanent account, please consider a small donation. The donation button is available on the Purchase page.
Thanks to all who have pitched in already. Your support is much appreciated! Current Mood: distressed

I know there's a link on the main page, but what about making it more noticeable by making it a nice looking donation graphic?
I mainly check here after having trouble accessing the site. I don't think too many people check the news otherwise. . .
The donation graphic is one of the standard buttons PayPal offers. Do you have alternative suggestions?
Hmm.. even the standard PayPal button would make it more noticable. Keep it toward the top of the page so it catches the eye a little more?
I am awful at designing things, but maybe... offer a contest of sorts? Or just an opportunity. Let users design a donate button, withing specific size limitations, and rotate the image. As long as the button still clearly stated "Donate here!" or such on it. I think it'd be neat to see a gif I made as the donate button, but I'm no where near good enough to win a contest.
I can't upgrade my account, either. Permanent is as high as it goes. Maybe.. the screenname that gives a donation gets to make a "donate button" and those are the images you rotate through on the main page?
I'm just brainstorming through my fingers here. I'll keep thinking about it and see if I can actually be of help.
Funny you should mention that. I just setup a community here and want to put a custom mood theme to it but I can't figure out how to get it in paid status so I can.
You go to the Purchase page, choose which method you wish to use to pay, then follow the directions :) Let me know if you need more help.
Probably just my work server blocking something.
It shows how I can purchase for myself but not the community. I want to purchase for the community. |
