02:33 am - RE: The LJ Comment Strike ~I'm not sure how many of you are even aware of this whole tempest [details HERE] over on Live Journal. I personally am one of those pushing it, not because I want to see LJ collapse - which I do not even if I thought that possible – but because I am frustrated and angry at corporations pushing us around just because 'they own the platform'. As I said in the above linked post, "We're upset because we're no longer customers; we're merely consumers, being force fed products we don't need, politicians we don't like, and wars we don't want.” Hell, even Brad Fizt, the creator of LJ, said in his journal, "In any case, SUP apparently sees no value in freeloaders not looking at ads, not paying, and oh wait ... producing most the content for other members to read, other members who are looking at ads and paying for their accounts." We set up CL as a safe haven based on the above reasons. We do our best to let you know what is going on. Yeah, we screw up from time to time and I can be somewhat...'undiplomatic' on occasion. But you, our members, know where you stand vis-a-vis this site. And, no, I'm not going to hit y'all up for cash now. lol I just wanted to keep you 'in the loop'. Current Mood: thoughtful

11:26 pm - We goofed up! Remember the post where I admitted that I accidentally deleted some community information when I purged the unclaimed accounts? Well...it seems the worst damage I did was to our own communities. They are in the process of being set up again so please visit them and re-enter your information.
